While my opinion is entirely anecdotal, my sense is that they tend to behave in a manner that runs counter to their stated positions on most issues. Prime examples are easy to point out; my state's governor, Gavin Nussolini, had a real habit of not following his own mask mandates, as was also the case with the mayor of SF, London Breed. In the case of Mayor Breed, she seemed defensive on the matter, actually more downright indignant that people expected her to follow her own issued mask mandate.
