In 1971, the 26th Amendment was passed, lowering the minimum voting age from 21 to 18 years old. A major impetus for the movement was the Vietnam War. Old enough to be drafted? Old enough to vote. We face a similar situation today, where total abortion bans without exceptions aim to place girls as young as 8 or 9 on the front lines of a cruel society that still harbors rapists and pedophiles.
