There is much division between Hinduism & Islam in south Asia. In the late 15th century Sikhism was founded to blend the best parts of both traditions. Unfortunately, practitioners have been hated by members of both religions & subject to hate crimes. As a result, they have a commandment that every Sikh must have a knife on them for self defense.
