Yea i have a AM15 it don’t have very many stock parts I got it from someone who put a heavy barrel and mag pull stock on it all tho running 559 thru it makes it inaccurate 223 is better for target shooting

If you can shoot a 22, you can shoot a 5.56, so it probably comes down to cheap foriegn ammo. I've found certain brands of budget ammo to be wildly inaccurate, likely due to no quality control.

556 vs 223 is entirely dependent on your barrel, chamber, ammo brand & bullet weight.
I've seen no difference in my own accuracy between 5.56 NATO and .223 rem out of generic mil-spec and off the shelf barrels.
On the other hand, if you have tight chamber tolerances or a match grade barrel, 223 may be much better.
