There's an issue in Mortal Kombat that was ignored in every version I've seen. The elephant in the room is religion. Many of the characters are American & grew up in a Christian culture. Jax is specifically described as a church goer. Yet they meet & cooperate with a pagan god without difficulty. Not one of them has a crisis of conscience or laments "everything I was raised to believe is wrong!"
