I…just thought I’d open comments to a measured discussion today about what a post-Roe future might look like from a policy perspective?
You think I’m trying to get you banned? How? And why? I don’t know who you are. There are more important things to think about and discuss.
The pillars of a sensible and moderate pro-life platform that I’ve outlined in my meme above could, I believe, command 90% of the American public’s support — Republican or Democrat — minus the 10% of rigid ideologues on either the pro- or anti-abortion sides. And in addition, deliver a notable improvement upon the paltry support that we currently give to new mothers in either red or blue states.
The “welcome baby” box, for starters. Finland isn’t a richer country than we are. Actually, they’re poorer. But they do it. (See meme). And a lot of other stuff besides, to ease the burdens of motherhood. Can we? If we did, would more women choose life?
The end of Roe seems to be driving our country apart at a breakneck speed, pouring gasoline on a culture war that was already raging, but could we take a deep breath and find solutions to bring us back together again?
