Nah, the mujahedeen splintered into different factions after the Soviets left. and weren't even on the same sides. The Taliban was created in 1994 by Pakistani Islamic militants who wanted to turn their country and Afghanistan into a united Islamic Republic against India. Al-Qaeda, which was established by Osama Bin Laden, his mentor Abdullah Azzam and his number 2 guy Ayman al-Zawhiri in 1988 liked their view of an Islamic world, so they helped the Taliban take over Afghanistan, and tney've been protecting OBL's thugs ever since.
