Rush Limbaugh opposed that rule also because it would require him to have some liberal on his show.

When that rule was in effect the left got around it by have a conservative on their show with a panel of leftists there to shout him/her down so that the conservative could never get they're point made. There were only a handful of times when Phil Donahue would just have a one to one interview with a conservative or libertarian.

This when the left created attack journalism. This when they learned to philibuster all over any opposing viewpoints.
