People want others to change instead of themselves

I know this is gonna trigger people but pride month has got me thinking, with all the outrage of certain individuals when everyone on the planet does not use the correct pronouns (usually out of genuinely not knowing, versus malice) are they ever going to truly be happy or at peace? If you're happy with who you are, why would your happiness depend on others' validation?

None of the times someone used the wrong pronoun on accident and the other person wasn’t offended make the news. The liberal media only reports the times someone was bullied into suicide and the conservative media only reports the times some innocent kid gets expelled for making a mistake. That way we can all be pissed off at each other.

you're probably right, news tends to focus on the negative and emphasise the worst actions of humanity instead of the best. But that only makes clearer that we care more about what others think and base our happiness on that rather than being at peace and finding joy in who we are irrespective of others (usually wrong) opinions of us.

Finding joy is a skill that some people have learned to be good at and some people need to work on. But we are all works in progress.

But that rusty person still has no power to take away your peace and happiness. Have you ever read "Man's Search for Meaning" ? Even in a concentration camp Victor Frankle was able to keep his peace.

I think that at the end of the day "peace" in this context is impossible to find- Some of our most core values may conflict with another person's values, and the only way to properly change those values is to have them forced apon you- At that point, can the changing of your values for the sake of peace even be called "peace"?
