My sense is few really care about the Jan. 6th Committee. It should definitely proceed for the sake of the historical record. But despite the mountains of evidence it's unearthing, the Jan. 6 riot is fading in importance. People who are likely swing voters are more moved by immediate pocketbook issues.
Sadly, the Democratic Party's basic commitment to uphold democracy, when the alternative is a viciously bigoted Putinist-like movement, isn't an automatic vote-winner in America.
If Democrats want to win, or stem their probable losses, in the 2022 midterms then they need Biden to get out there and explain that 50 GOP Senators + these 2 conservative Democrats are standing in the way of outstandingly popular pocketbook Democratic initiatives like paid family leave and the extended child tax credit. Not to mention doing anything meaningful about clean energy & climate change. There is a mountain of legislation that just isn't breaking through to voters' minds because the Democratic Party isn't messaging it properly.
