Does any other man feel a little insulted when folks think a change of clothing is all it takes to be a man?

Hey, trans men aren't "Identifiying as a man," they are men. Clothes don't change your identity true, but who you are born as does. Trans men were born men, they just had the wrong bodies. trans men ARE men, just the same amount as cis men.

No, clothing isn't what changes your identity at all! A man can wear a dress and still be a man, a woman can wear a suit, etc. However, if a biological male feels like a woman, or if a biological woman feels more like a man, or any other combination of things, that's what being transgender is.

Ok, since people are allowed to identify any way they want now, and clothing is all it takes to change identities, I have a challenge ...

Hop on eBay and buy yourself a formal dress uniform. Make yourself a 4-star General. Be sure to add lots of purple hearts and medals. Then go to a VFW. See what they think of your new identity. Try to use your new identity to get discounts! No one will mind right?

Better yet, go buy a leather vest. Add some fake Hells Angels patches from China. Be sure you add lots of 1% diamonds, they love those. Then Google their nearest chapter and drive over. Be sure you drive over. And tell them you can't ride, but you identify as a biker after watching Easy Rider. They'll make you a Chapter President, I promise!

Heck, grab some blue and red flashing lights and put them on your SUV. Amazon sells them cheap! You need to be sure you have lots of blue lights, in front particularly. If a cop pulls you over, just tell them you identify as law enforcement. You might earn a pension! Who knows right?

Or, you might discover what happens when someone tries to claim something they didn't earn. Because they just decided one day to reinvent their image. What has been missed in all this identity politics is the fact there is a difference between tolerating people's life choices, and considering them an equal. Big difference....

being trans isn't a choice. It's who you are. It's who you were born as. It's who you will always be.
