Guns aren't the ones killing the people, it's the lunatics who shoot others without any concerns. Guns can be a good thing (for protection for your families) but isn't for everyone.
Banning guns just takes away law-abiding citizen's protection from crazed lunatics. What happens when there's a shootout and no one can do anything and are helplessly being shot cause "Oh, I can't but a gun cause they're banned"?
