Interesting note: This the joke of "you need it to go twice" may not actually be true. If you look at the story of Jordan Hatmaker, her main chute released incorrectly, her reserve was accidentally triggered, and that freed her main, resulting in a downplane. The downplane increases a skydiver's speed, sending them hurtling toward the ground in a terrifying spin. She broke her back, leg, and ankle. She has started walking again and (at least according to the articles I have read) plans to go skydiving again in the future.
So although this may be slightly controversial, going by current events, I'd like to say: "You don't need a parachute to go skydiving. You may not even need it to go skydiving twice. But you should probably have it if you want to go skydiving three times. Or twice. You know what? Just use a parachute."
