That’s especially true in the very rural parts of this country. Where I live, in order to get to any reasonable city, you need to drive at least 2 hours each way just to get to that city. It’s also very cold here. And we all know that in extremely cold areas, batteries have far less capacity than they do in the Summer time.

Additionally multiple items here run only on diesel. My tractor only runs on Diesel. Because of frequent power outages (populated areas that lose power will regain power for quicker than the sparsely populated areas), we rely on a large diesel generator. Finally, in order to work on the equipment here in the wintertime, I have a barn heater that burns diesel.
