Hard to choose, so imma go with neither of the above and ban billionaires. $999,999,999.99 dollars is enough for anyone. Billionaires get the option of donating their excess wealth to a non-political charity of their choice or paying it as taxes.

There will still be money in politics, it can never be eliminated unless you eliminate money entirely, but the playing field won’t be as absurdly unbalanced toward the rich.

This just shows your lack of basic understanding of economics. Billionaires don’t have billions of dollars in liquid assets, it’s all in stock options in their companies. Unless you plan on forcing them to sell off all their stocks and seize their wealth that way which would collapse the global economy in a depression far worse than the Great Depression and set us back decades if not centuries as a species, you literally could not do what you’re advocating for because they don’t actually have those liquid assets. You don’t have to like Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos, they certainly have done things worthy of criticism, but their wealth and the companies their wealth has been invested in have advanced humanity by leaps and bounds, especially in space travel and exploration.

also, companies are the big donors, not wealthy individuals. If I remember correctly, the cap for a person is like a couple thousand dollars they can donate, but there's a loophole for companies.
