I saw a video about how they're regeneration works so in theory shooting them in the chest would kill them

But here's the problem: You won't know they're behind you until you turn around, so you're basically f**ked, even if you are the fastest draw in the wild west, there's no saving yourself. Also, if you don't have that WMD railgun, use an orbital strike, has the same effect, or you know, stick to EMP rounds.
