Should we let the states decide on Same Sex Marriage, access to Birth Control for single women and minority voting rights? All three are opposed by many of the same theocratic groups that oppose abortion for religious reasons?
The states who restrict abortion do so because of the religious belief that "life begins at conception." Science does not support that "belief."
Birth control is infanticide, according to some who believe that life begins at conception. Are you willing to let unmarried girls kill the babies they just conceived? Consider this scientific fact, "If the pill fails to prevent ovulation and conception, it prevents the fertilized egg from growing through “changes in the endometrium which reduce the likelihood of implantation” (a form of abortion).
Personally, I would choose to not have an abortion, except for a medical problem or rape/incest. It should not be my decision to make for someone else. I don't see it as infanticide, based on scientific criteria. That is a religious determination. The First Amendment is supposed to protect me from laws based on your religion. But that is just the Constitution.
The Supreme Court will let you know what THEIR decision is. At THAT time, you can spout off about it. It appears that the SCOTUS will determine that the STATES are the ones to make that decision, either locally, or through a Constitutional Convention.
No one has taken away anyone's right or put anyone in any place, Liarry.
All they did was give it back to the PEOPLE to decide.
I am sure you don't want a bunch of Old, White, Men to decide, right?
For fifty years, the same people told us it was "decided law." I guess we have to accept that they will lie about everything, for purely political reasons.
No. The people who kept bleating about "decided law" were the PP crowd, NOW, and over-educated live-at-home-til-your-parents-die liberal sponges.
Most of those Old, White, Men who handed down the RvW decision have died or retired, Liarry.
