That's true. Might makes right and that's exactly what this new Ministry of Truth is all about.

What scares me is that they are getting this bold. At least the "fact checking" on social media could theoretically be attributed to "private companies" deciding what to allow on thier own platforms "without government coercion" (despite hearings which carried implied, but not direct, threats if platforms failed to police speech). But a government entity created with the express stated purpose of policing speech...and crickets from much of the msm. It's terrifying.

Glenn Beck has been showing documents from the World Economic Forum and from our government which uses the phrase "public/private partnerships". It is in reference to large corporations who support the WEF and the Great Reset. What he has determined is that those on the left who are in power are not pushing socialism, they pushing socialism's brother, fascism. Beck is calling it a new 21st century fascism.

Seeing so many large corporations supporting the Great Reset I believe Beck is right. Reagan did say (paraphrasing), if fascism ever came to America it would come from the left. But then fascism soon becomes socialism and socialism soon becomes communism.

Musk buying Twitter had to be a poke in the eye to these fascists. But they still have Facebook and YouTube. They also have Amazon, Google (not just YouTube), Microsoft and Apple. They control our major forms of communication.

So this new Ministry of Truth was created to compensate for Musk's poke in their eye. Musk's purchase of Twitter was a small win for the supporters of freedom but the bigger war is still on.

Best you attack the idea before you understand it.

In what world does this in any way shape or form sound like a good idea. This is at it's mildest a government assault on free speech.

I fully understand that the left cannot handle it when they hear an opposing or even different viewpoint. It just how your brains work. But suppose just for a second that Trump created this agency. What would you think of it then. I would still be of the exact same opinion. Wrong is wrong it doesn't matter who does it.

And considering that all government agencies become corrupt (and this one is starting off corrupt) this will eventually, if not immediately, become Hitler's Ministry of Enlightenment and Propaganda.
