There was a pastor in a church and it was his last Sunday there because he had answered a call to another ministry. There was an elder in front, who from the pastor’s first Sunday to his last, always slept through his sermons. So the pastor conspired with the congregation. He said, “I will whisper, ‘Whoever is a child of Satan,’ and then I will shout, ‘Stand up!’ Nobody stand up. He proceeded with his sermon and whispered, “Whoever is a child of Satan,” and then he shouted, “STAND UP!” True to their word, the congregation remained seated. Only the sleeping elder, now awake, stood up. AND THEN I SAID, “I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU JUST SAID, PASTOR, BUT I SURE AM GLAD WE’RE BOTH STANDING!”
