Liberals are kind of like 'awareness' charities.
They don't actually put their money where their mouth is, they simply consider their drawing of attention to the issue to be a charitable donation in itself.
Bill Gates and Oprah alone could have provided that sum of money 3 decades ago but nobody expects an outright liberal celebrity to 'fix poverty' with their obscene wealth; That expectation is only given to anyone who speaks against the narrative.
