It's something we can do INSTEAD OF going to war. That's the point.

Other countries can institute sanctions. 332 million people would like to do away with Sanctions.

So what you're looking for is for the United States to be a rogue nation that undermines sanctions as a diplomatic alternative to war?

I think we're ready to take a vote.

America no longer instituting unconstitutional sanctions with countries we aren't at war with would send a message that we are against isolationalism. Billions of other people in another 200 countries can have their own sanctions. Businesses should be free to do business with Venezuela, Belarus, Cuba, Syria without bullies crying fake genocide.

If they can trade with us, there are no sanctions. And what's worse is that we're taking sides with a country that literally everyone else has condemned.

So, like I said, let's put it to a vote.

Long ago the US had very little to no sanctions and the world admired America. Sanctions never worked.

The world saw America as an out of control war-addicted troublemaker who happened to be on the just side of a global conflict once.

And they still do.

If we're trading with a country the rest of the world has already condemned, we are almost certainly doing something extremely wrong. It's actually the mistake we made that escalated World War 2 in the first place.

The era when you last saw little to no US Sanctions would had been before June 1940.

Yup, and we ended up literally fuelling the Japanese invasion of Manchuria. If we hadn't sold them the oil they needed in the first place, Pearl Harbor might never have happened.

That's American lives saved if we'd used the sanction when the rest of the world did.

People on this planet want to move away from policies by old men who want a rerun of the cold war. People want to be able to live wherever they want not restricted to some barbed wire border.

Great. But if they can trade with us, we're siding with them. We learned that the hard way in 1940 when we were literally fuelling Japan's invasion of Manchuria. Anyone ever tell you how that came back to bite us?

Don't do either
