I'm not great at spelling, and hence I should be the very last person on this planet who corrects someone else's spelling. But I believe it's Kary Mullis.

I was confused about the spelling, but there's no doubt he was one of the greatest scientists in history.

BTW, he thought man-made climate change was utter nonsense.
