How we can be sure the Republican attacks on Disney are bullshit.

How we can be sure the Republican attacks on Disney are bullshit. | You know how I know the “Disney grooms kids” thing is bullshit? You don’t respond to that by taking away special self-governing privileges. You respond to that by calling in the attorney general and conducting a sweeping criminal and business practices investigation. If Ron DeSantis really believed in this “groomer” crap and wanted to protect kids, that’s what he’d do. Instead, he’s settling for some financial retaliation against Disney for its decision to publicly condemn the “Don’t Say Gay” bill and cease filling the Florida GOP’s coffers with campaign contributions. The ultimate aim of all this Republican sound & fury against Disney is to get Disney to toe the GOP Party line, not to protect children. Assume the Disney Corporation were truly harming children on a systemic level. Then the Florida GOP’s current efforts to punish Disney merely by taking away its special carve-outs would be both supremely cynical and criminally negligent, as it would do nothing to end the abuse. The “good news” is that Disney Corporation is not, in fact, systematically abusing children, which makes the Florida GOP’s targeted and retaliatory legislation merely supremely cynical. | image tagged in disney, ron desantis, disney pedo world | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
