Hey there! I'm the owner of this stream, thanks for taking the time to try and help him. I don't really have as much time as I used to for this site, so I will award you with Moderator role for having taken the time to help solve his question. The answer was actually 20 though.

I know this is a late response. I don't come on this site very often, but I just thought to let you know that the answer you were provided is incorrect.

It was very nice of him to help you and I am grateful that people in my stream are helping one another which is awesome, but unfortunately this question did not require you to subtract 4 from 25.

I have no idea which grade you are in, but if you are not in grade 9 or something then this question is just ridiculously difficult, even for grade 9 honestly. I can definitely see why you were confused. They put so much pressure on students nowadays.

The simplest way you could do it would be to use BEDMAS and solve it piece by piece. BEDMAS is the order you need to follow.

B - Brackets - (7-3) is in brackets. Subtract 3 from 7 which gives you 4

So now we have 5^2 * 4 ÷ 5

E - Exponents - there is an exponent of 2, then that means "squared" - multiplied by itself. 5^2 means 5 times 5 which gives you 25.

Now we have 25 * 4 ÷ 5

D - Division -

The 4 is being divided by 5 so let's do that,
4 ÷ 5 = 4/5 or just simply 0.8

Last step is to enter 0.8 into your calculator and multiply it by 25.
This will give you 20 as your final answer.
I hope this helps.

All of Reaper_of_kiev 's math was right except for the 25-4 part, I think he meant to do 25*4

Another way to look at my solution (similar to Reaper_of_kiev) is like this,

25*4 = 100
100÷ 5 = 20

Wow! How are you so good at math?

I know I'm going to sound weird, but I've always had a passion for math and science since a very young age. I always learned it very fast and taught myself concepts years before they were taught. And by the age of 18, I wrote my own series of math books to help High School students (book series name is : "High School Math Made Understandable"). Math is boring to most people, but I'm sure you could become just as good with a lot of practice. My books show exactly how I do all of my math.

Here's my advice: The more mistakes you make the faster you will learn. I would recommend IXL (I don't think it's free anymore), and Khan Academy (free). There is a lot of great content in there. I learned a lot from those sites. Not to forget, 'Professor Leonard's" Youtube channel, he has Pre-Algebra, and Calculus series which are amazing and very easy to understand. I got my university math education from professor Leonard.

Good luck! 👍
All the best,

Wow! I'm just a dude who has a C- in math. I will definitely look into those books, thanks.

No problem. C- is still not bad, even though I was a straight As student, I will tell you right now that the pressure that comes with it is not worth it. Not only that, they claim to give bursaries to students who graduate with a certain average. I graduated with an average of 96% and wasn't even eligible. So yeah, in my opinion, anything above 50 is worth being proud of.

The only time I would say it's important to get straight As or really close to that would be if you want to be a Doctor or Engineer and are trying to get into one of those competitive entry programs.

Here's the link to one of the books (it's one of the cheapest pre-calculus books out there, this is my most popular one because it's my entire book series collection all in one book):

Same goes for anyone, including you. If you want to become successful at anything you need to work hard on it and improve and see where it takes you rather than setting out an overly defined goal that will stress and disappoint you.

What I plan on doing is becoming a pianist. I have been playing for 4 months, and can already play Rush E- SheetMusicBoss.
