The televised debates have become nothing but a joke. We learn nothing from them. They've become just one long propaganda statement by all parties involved. End them.

I’m not quite ready to say that there’s no value in both Parties talking to each other and to the electorate on the same stage, but this author shares a similar view.

Basically: Ok, Republicans, battle it out amongst yourselves in your own fictional universe where you have total control over the moderators, topics, etc.

Republicans already enjoy basically unlimited time on Fox News to be coddled and field softball questions from the likes of Tucker Carlson etc.

Presidential debates are the chance for them to prove their mettle in front of a less fawning audience, but whatever. Take your ball and go home.
