It's hard to have an intelligent religious discussion in the U.S.

I don't know how many times non-Natives have asked me vaguely if I believe in "God." What does that mean? Pele, Thor, Guan Yin, Eshu, Pachemama? Which of the countless Gods in hundreds of pantheons around the world are you asking about? But if I request disambiguation I hear "so you believe in many Gods then." 🤷
