Each individual American citizen can either participate in voting, or not vote at all. That's the freedom behind it. So if I voted third party it wouldn't matter anyway because according to the media Americans are either democrat or republican. They leave out the 40 percent who by decision don't show up to the polls because people who don't vote, don't want to support American politics. If the government forced people into voting we would have a new kind of revolution.
