I actually think you're onto something.
Youtube started out as a platform for people who wanted to watch regular folks, and get away from ads, celebrities, and mainstream news.
Now it's been taken over by the people of ads, celebrities, and mainstream news.
And, unless you're someone like Markiplier, they're beginning to kick off the original organic content creators that we came there for the first place. If we wanna watch Fox News or CNN, we'll watch it on TV or their designated website. We don't mind it as an option on Youtube, either.
But when you get big tech, on behalf of big government, to censor or algorithm competition or independent guys you don't like, and then make a bunch of celebs I don't care about dominate my suggestions-you're gonna get left behind.
The only thing stopping us is finding a bunch of alternatives that we can build up enough to replace what is ruined by monopolies.
