How it works:
Step 1. Produce false content.
Step 2. Debunk it with a “fact-check.”
Step 3. Include logic in the “fact-check” that undermines true information.
Example:
1. Photoshop a “Z” onto a photo of a tank located in a different conflict zone at a different point in time.
2. Prove that the Z was photoshopped.
3. Imply that *all* photos of tanks that have a Z are presumptively photoshopped, have nothing to do with Ukraine and are part of a Western psy-op to discredit Russia.
The image above is indeed fake, but it was faked by the fact-checker themselves to discredit Ukrainian reports of captured Russian military hardware.
