The original religion of Tibet is known as Bon. It is/was an Animistic/Shamanistic tradition with nature spirits. It's also a bit Deist, with a Creator who doesn't micromanage the universe. Modern Bon is very different. Like Christians, Buddhists sometimes purge those who refuse to convert. As a matter of survival Bon has gradually become a copy of Buddhism; yet they are still hated & discriminated against.
