If that is Hamilton versus Burr, Hamilton actually meant to miss. He saw it as a matter of Honor, while Burr was out for revenge. Hamilton's son actually died in a duel a few years earlier, so Hamilton didn't want any unnecessary bloodshed.

I don't think so, the bottom said a Royal Duel, so I assumed it was some British lords.
