Yes. That is a possibility. I'm not sure that the Russians REALLY want to stay and become occupiers - though I wouldn't blame them if they did that. Ideally they would just remove the US' NAZI COUP Government, and force changes in the Constitution: that prevent oppression of ethnic Russians, force recognition of the transfer of Crimea, the autonomy of the Donbass, mandate neutrality and create a prohibition from joining NATO (or accepting foreign bases, weapons or BioWarfare Labs), etc.. If they DO remain in Ukraine - they run the risk of becoming entangled in an endless guerrilla war, against the Nazi militias, many of whom have melted into the civilian population. There's also an unaccountable and now heavily armed citizenry to contend with... I hope that choose wisely, and think this through.
