They’re not completely the same but they both serve the same interests of the capitalist class. The Republicans are evidently more harmful than Democrats, attacking vulnerable populations and attacking social progress. Democrats refuse to move from their center-right position and make significant changes happen for the working class.

Allowing a person access to safe and unpenalized abortion is absolutely progress. Women harm their bodies and kill themselves when they cannot legally get an abortion. Hundreds of thousands of poor women have died trying to end their own pregnancies in places where the practice is illegal. That is barbaric.

Nobody is brainwashing kids into genital mutilation. What you’re calling brainwashing is really acceptance. Accepting everyone for being who they are. Studies show children as young as 3 sometimes are aware they have a different gender identity, and that doesn’t mean they have surgery at a young age to transition. That happens in adulthood, if they choose it at all. The right wants to believe transgenderism and homosexuality don’t happen on their own because they live outside reality. And currently, they’re trying to legislate their own realities into classrooms and hurt LGBTQ students in the process.

Republicans are trying to outlaw education on racial oppression, gender identity and sexual orientation. They’re trying to overturn Roe v. Wade. In Texas, they want to investigate parents of transgender youth. They want to ban trans kids from receiving the healthcare they need, and ban trans girls from participating in school athletics. These bills are all based on utter ignorance.

What the study pointed out was some of those kids who showed early signs later went on to transition. If that makes them comfortable in their bodies, where is the problem? Despite right-wing lies, most do not regret their transition.

There are things we could do to actually end abortion, like, provide contraceptives to all and eliminate poverty and provide sex education but conservatives oppose all of these things. If you are impoverished, it is your fault, they say.

I don’t see myself as selfish or arrogant just for expecting people to respect existence and other people’s identities and orientation. I don’t think you’re a very good person if you can’t do that basic thing, and want to trample human progress and human rights.

by eliminating poverty you mean adding in things to spending bills and cutting off american energy supply to drive inflation sky high, make housing unaffordable, make travel unaffordable, crash supply chains, make it harder for the average american to put food on the table and live a sustainable lifestyle?

More along the lines of worker’s rights, heavy unionization, stable employment, free housing, free healthcare, living wage. Y’know, the things other countries can accomplish but somehow the richest nation in history can’t.

well whenever this fairy tale land of everything free pops into existence sign me up it sounds wonderful, totally unsustainable completely illogical... until then explain how gutting the economy from energy and making everything unaffordable now is a good thing? how have these policies that have driven prices to levels that HURTS every poor and impoverished person a good thing? You are preaching that you want to help the lower class well the democrat policies are not doing that quiet the opposite

I make a good wage, it was a great wage but now its stilll pretty good considering 30% of the $ i make goes back to fuel costs, but I think it effects lower income families more than it would me, I hate thinking about the single parents who are deciding on whether to have 3 solid meals for the kids or buying them jackets in the winter or not being able to afford the heat bill...

But to be fair, poverty can’t be eliminated under the capitalist system as the system requires the threat of poverty and homelessness to reproduce capitalism and keep loyal workers in submission. As some of us are aware, capitalism is worsening poverty rather than enhancing it.

Gutting the economy from energy sources at home is a direct hit to the lower class...
