Queen Snowfall initially thinks the Leafwing and Silkwing refugees are invading and trying to take the Ice kingdom so she sets out to meet them with several magic items, including a ring enchanted with The Gift of Vision after not understanding what it does, and brings an army she turned invisible with another magical item enchanted with the gift of stealth (forgot exactly what). Tsunami arrives with them and after complaining about having arrived in the ice kingdom, they attempt to negotiate to be able to rest for a day. After Cricket decides to announce she is a descendant of Clearsight, Snowfall makes her army visible again, which scares everyone else.
Before I fail to mention Lynx, it was her idea to go meet the Silkwings and Leafwings. Lynx also accompanied Snowfall for most of the book. Snowfall allows them to pass through the ice kingdom to get to the sand kingdom, Snowfall, Lynx, and a few guards go travel with the leafwings and silkwings. Upon reaching Jerboa’s hut and meeting moon, Luna, and Quibli, they rest for a few days and head to Sanctuary to decide what to do about the sudden new arrivals to the continent.
