LGBTQ rights aren't exactly popular in Ukraine either. You going to side with the Ukrainian Nazis or the Russian Nazis on this one?

In Russia, which is quickly becoming a North Korea-style fascist totalitarian state, homophobes are driving policy. Ukrainian leadership on the other hand is broadly pro-Western, pro-human rights, and therefore pro-LGBTQ. The President of Ukraine is a Jewish ex-comedian who comes from the entertainment industry. Do you really think he’s out to persecute the gays? Lol

On that point, the Russian patriarch is correct — Ukraine as presently constituted tolerates LGBTQ more than Russia, but it’s a bullshit reason to start a war.

The people running Ukraine may not be Nazis, but they don't mind integrating them into their national guard to supply them with weapons. Putin uses the Stalinist tactic of obfuscation and plausible deniability when it comes to Wagner Group and such.

The war is over Western influence of former Iron Curtain and Soviet states. The expansion of American empire is the big issue here. LGBTQ rights are accessory.
