You Should Never Take Anything Too Literally

When I think back on all the crap I learned in high school

It's a wonder I can think at all

And though my lack of education hasn't hurt me none

Yeah . . . because like most leftists everything I every learned about Buddhism and Taoism and Christianity I, too, learned from the music industry and . . . from my Marxist college professors.

The way I see it, religion is just art that some people took too literally. Imagine that 2000 years from now there are people who believe that "every word" of J.R.R. Tolkien's Silmarillion is literally true. That's kind of what the Bible is to some people today.

That's just the way I see it. I didn't hear it in a song or learn it at college.

Conservatives don't "get" art. And if you don't "get" art, you're not going to understand religion - not even your own religion - either.
