I'm a male waiter, and gay guys ruin the 45 minute rule.
If the customer appears to have taken 45 minutes "looking good"; give the customer a compliment on their appearance.
I'm not flirting. I'm doing my job. I want a 20% tip; not your phone number. If I wanted that, I would ask.
