The phrase "trans people exist" is senantically overloaded. On the one hand, it can be taken to mean that there are some people with gender dysphoria. Of course there are some people with gender dysphoria. And you should be kind to them and talk to them using their preferred pronouns to be polite. However, "Trans people exist" is also used to mean that trans women literally are women and trans men literally are men and that that's a scientific fact that must be accepted.
