1. If those companies are the ones in control, why not simply continue the war in Afghanistan? The Taliban was still clearly around to fight against, meanwhile there's virtually zero risk of them invading, nuking, or sending missiles here.
2. What has not been nuts in the past year:
Unemployment declining back to pre-pandemic levels as people go back to work.
Being able to go to the movies again.
Kids going back to school.
The ratio of covid deaths to covid cases (compared to previous waves).
Hundreds of millons of Americans getting vaccinated.
People here were literally portraying 2021 like... OMG the ApOcAlYpSe.....meanwhile the craziest thing is basically higher prices due to increased demand/supply chain issues. (And prices had already been rising but they increased more this past year.) And speaking of which, it's also kind of interesting that some of the same people championing the Canadian trucker protests are complaining about inflation.. I mean those protests might be small enough that it won't matter much but theoretically it could only make it worse.
