I respectfully disagree. We do not need a war with Russia right now, especially when we are most likely going to get caught up in a war on China over Taiwan in the near future. And for what, Ukraine? The only use we would even have for Ukraine is a strategic position to attack the Russian heartland. And why the obsession over Russia? Other than their nuclear arsenal, they’re not a threat to us, and they’re probably going to collapse once Putin kicks the bucket anyway. Yet boomers and leftists insist on using Russia as a boogeyman due to Cold War memories or Hillary Clinton making shit up that Trump was working for the Russians and that Russia stole the election from her. Russia is certainly not a free place and I don’t trust Putin at all, but I’m not going to side with a corrupt oligarchy (which yes they still are, despite having TWO revolutions against a pro Russian government since 2000) just to spite a former foe. At least with Taiwan, they’re a bona fide democracy and First World nation, plus we have a vested interest there because of it’s strategic position in keeping China landlocked, and Taiwan is where a lot of our computer chips are made. If China were to take Taiwan, not only are they able to expand their naval power more easily out into the Pacific, but they take control over a major part of our technology center, effectively crippling us until we are able to set up shop somewhere else. What does Ukraine offer? Wheat and Chernobyl. Yeah, I see no reason to get involved in Ukraine.
