There’s a lot of truth to that. The less democratic and more authoritarian a state is, the more likely the ruling class will pilfer the people by rigging things in their favor. Just look at Russia: an entire major country that’s been captured by one man and his thugocracy and made to serve their personal and financial interests — with awful consequences both for Russians and their neighbors. You could say similar things about China, which is a kleptocracy despite their propaganda of “communism.”

Economic equality on some level is a goal of every democracy. People should be able to strive and enrich themselves through honest means, but there are limits.

if in a democratic system where the ppl have a choice there can be alternate ways to rehabilitate them like for example re-education on why greed isn't good but it has to be by a vote if it's by choice of the ppl then casting them away from the community can be another option

But you said, yourself, that you wouldn't let anything get in your way to get what you want and not feel guilty about it even if it hurts other people. Greedy people aren't any different that that, and you don't seem to think there is anything wrong with this way of thinking.
