One part of getting great sleep at night is to get some direct sunlight in the morning and the best results are gained if this is done before 9 AM. This assists in stabilizing your Circadian Cycle! Getting sunlight before 9 AM has been scientifically proven to be the critically important time to aid sleep....doing this after 10 AM is just not as efficient. This does not mean that you have to be walking in sunlight, and certainly PLEASE DO NOT look directly into the sun....but the idea is rather to have the light from the sun pass across your vision.
So you can be sitting on your porch drinking coffee facing east towards the rising sun. And for those who do not have a porch then sitting beside a window facing the rising sun is just as good. You can drink coffee (I don't) or read....or meditate (if you can do so with your eyes open) for this period.
Your eyes must, of course, be open!
