Milan is notorious for being one of the most annoying pokemon to fight, particularly Whitney's Miltank which among other things (like super high HP and I think milk drink to heal itself, might have been heal bell.) used attract, so if your team happened to be mostly male pokemon you were pretty much screwed. (This was in Pokemon Gold and Silver as well as Heartgold Soulsilver.)
