The entertainment value is pulling up to a pump with a sticker already on it, and wondering - was it a sticker I mailed out? The entertainment is seeing one partially scratched off and replacing it - knowing that someone lost their mind enough to even try removing it.

I raise birds for meat. Not that mass housed disease ridden crap you buy in the store. I only feed my animals top quality feed. By the time I slaughter a turkey, I have probably $40 in feed in the bird - and they're enormous (around 28lbs processed). In fact, I'm taking the day off to teach two people how to butcher. I have 18 birds I've been raising for them, just so they can learn how to do this and start raising their own food.

And when I'm done, I'll take a shower and spend the rest of the day working on a software project....I thought you should know that so you don't embarrass yourself again by trying to imply that I'm some kind of redneck farmer - I'm a software engineer.

Yeah, good going. I too am the outdoor type, that writes code. I have 4 6 node clusters, each with 72TB of RAM, holding 4 SQL instances in cached in NVMERAM. Everything is virtualize on those 4 highly available clusters! It is exciting!!

Luckily, my contracts state that my data has to be stored State side. I have a third party guaranteeing 4 data centers in replication.
These are machine within my actual control. That third party buys me the insurance in case of catastrophic physical failure of two campuses (data centers)! Hint, they arent located at the same geographic location! 👌💯

Design and deploy - that's all me. YAML for kubernetes, Dockerfile for the pods, ansible for the underlying operating systems....then two dozen other languages for the actual SaaS applications.

By the way, my customers dont need access at 2 am. My department isnt 24/7. Nobody is in the center at 2am. Shit, nobody is in the building after 430pm. FREE HEALTH CARE, ACCESS to free clinics (open to my organization only), and retirement guaranteed at 75% of highest 2 year wage period. I am good!

I dont have the luxury of minions. Every single layer (sans networking) is my responsibility. If I need to administer the network piece, I can do that too. 👌💯
