Americans = all Americans
Africa. Americans = a subset of Americans
Americans vote at 62 %
African Americans vote at 62%
What is wrong with his statement?
Nothing. But your prejudices shade your interpretation.
It's good to know that you as a non-person of color understand their struggle and are respected enough by people of color ro speak on their behalf. Congrats!
Considering it was a black relative that made me aware of what mitch said I can say without hesitation that yeah, black folks were offended. So were plenty of white folks I know. It’s good to know that you are so white that you are respected enough by racists to speak on their behalf. Congrats!
Absolutely. I would enjoy watching you speak to an African American for the first time. If you can summon the courage to actually travel to the west side of Chicago I would be more than happy to have you join us for lunch.
How about the southside? Pacific Garden Missions on Canal St. I volunteered there is the 80's. Perhaps we can meet for breakfast after we help with breakfast for those sheltered there. Does that work?
Now, now. When someone's family for personal reasons you've crossed the line. You do not know my family and I would never introduce them to you. Goodbye.
I’m not even sure how to respond to you. I never said I was black, although I’m pretty certain you’re a moron. Does the thought of me, a white guy, having family , that are black, upset you that much?
And there's your real problem.
You don't think.
I didn't say that you said you were black.
joe biden famously said, "You ain't black."
He doesn't try to hide his racism.
If you ever decide to focus on facts...
What a great day that will be.
I’m not concerned with what Biden says, that’s YOUR problem. I don’t defend him. I just point out truth and facts about trump and his minions, you waste your time trying to insult Biden with me kiddo. He’s not my favorite either. He just happened to be the guy that ran against the orange traitor.
I didn't know YouTube was a "cult member's" website. I also didn't know a video that only had Biden in it was a "conspiracy theory". What would that conspiracy be anyway?
I couldn’t say buddy, I don’t use YouTube or TikTok or Facebook or any internet sites for information. But I do know that folks incapable of thinking for themselves do. And unfortunately, the majority are right wing sheep that are desperate to make themselves feel justified for supporting a con man and a traitor, you know, trump supporters.

So a video of Joe Biden saying exactly what you said wasn't true means that I cannot think for myself????? It's just a video.
YouTube is the polar opposite of a website for the right. They are censor right wing speech all of the time. The left has carte blanche but not the right.
I find it very hard to believe that you have never watched a video on YouTube. You are really limiting yourself. It is not a political video repository, it is just a video repository and the vast majority of videos have absolutely nothing to do with politics. Much of it is stuff that appeals to teenagers because it is open to anyone to post a video on that web site.
You can find videos on just about any recipe you are looking for. You can find how to videos to fix just about everything on your car or house. You can watch videos on everything from quantum computing to how to apply the right kind of makeup if you are a teen girl with brown hair. You can watch speeches from Nobel prize winners. You can watch music videos produced by ever musician who has ever made a video for their music. You can find musicians whom no one has ever heard of performing their own music.
If you really have never been on YouTube then you are severely limiting yourself on whatever you want to learn. Yes, you can read a book and get more detail but sometimes a video works much better in actually showing you how to do what you read about.
Full disclosure, I watch lots of ufo and cryptid videos on YouTube. I just don’t watch any political crap online. I’m not a young man lol. I still read and use my own eyes and ears , and I watch how my business does under each president.

I am not young either. But I have watched videos on how to fix my car, how to smoke a pork butt on my Weber Kettle barbecue and a bunch of other things. But you will have a much harder time finding right wing political videos on YouTube than you will left wing because YouTube (Google) has formed a public/private partnership with the government. They seek to eliminate all speech contrary to the leftist agenda. This started about the time Trump was elected.
Those with shows (of any kind) usually have entered into an agreement with YouTube to produce a series of videos and in turn those people or groups can receive compensation by allowing ads on their videos. Anyone can do this except for conservatives. They may allow the conservative to post a video but they demonitze those videos. There are people who have gotten wealthy from the shows they post on YouTube. But conservatives are censored all of the time. Videos are pulled from the website because they violate their community guidelines.
The left does not have any problems with YouTube. In fact the Young Turks (a far left political talk show) is one of the highest grossing shows on YouTube.
I’m not left lol. I’m a veteran, and I love this country. My boy is a marine now. I drop about 5 grand on fireworks every July 4th. But, I do love my smoker, and here’s a tip if you’re ever in a pinch for time. You can smoke a pork butt for an hour or two and then crockpot it . It’ll shred up nice and still have a nice smoke flavor without having to maintain the smoker.

I found out a few days ago that if you filet it you can cut the time from smoking it in half. So if it normally was going to take 8 hours it will now take 4 hours.
I have heard about putting it in the crock pot but I haven't done that yet. I have smoked it for a few hours and then put it in the oven and finished it that way. It wasn't as tender if I had done it all on the bbq but it was good and it had the smokey flavor that I wanted.
I've loved bbq all my life but I never even thought about making it myself. We normally used our grill for hamburgers, not dogs and chicken. A few years ago I decided I would give it a try. I've made mistakes. The first time I made baby back ribs I almost turned them into charcoal. When I realized I was starting to get it right was went we went to our favorite bbq restaurant and my bbq was much better. But I'm still learning. Maybe I'll try the crock pot method next time.
We at least can both agree that smoking meats is the way to go

I have no problem with that. If we lived close enough I would invite you over for dinner. And we don't have to talk politics. Actually I don't talk politics with my friends or family. I would rather have fun. I just come here sometimes to vent my frustrations. Once it is out of my system then I feel better.
When you decide on your next smoker look into the electric ones, you can control everything off your phone now if you are savvy. On mine I know where to set the gas to keep it at exactly 220 degrees but it took me awhile to figure it out. Thankfully I still have a 16 and 17 year old boys at home that will help me eat up whatever I make. My wife isn’t a huge fan of all the meat either. Plus I have a few elderly neighbors that live alone that I usually pack up a container for to help get rid of it.

I do have a wireless thermometer. So I can do other things and keep an eye on the temp from inside the house. We never had any children so I don't have anyone to help me eat the BBQ. I live in an area with several elderly people also. I'm 63, I don't think I am old enough to be elderly yet. Maybe in 10 years. There are a few who I go to church with who are widowers that might enjoy some BBQ. I'll have to invite them over the next time I make pulled pork.
I kind of do the same thing here, I bitch about something and I move on. I have a lot of close friends and family that have strong thoughts on either side. I probably lean more left but I see the faults in all of our leadership.

I kind of think outside of the box. If anything I probably am more Libertarian than anything. I believe that everyone should be free and have the most freedom possible.
I have a propane smoker and I have to feed it wood , so it’s tough unless I want to monitor it for the night. So I cheat and I will smoke a brisket for a bit and then wrap it tight in foil and then I’ll put it in the oven in the morning at like 225 , still wrapped. You know, like for a party or whatever. That way by the time we are ready to eat it will be tender. Always use fruit or nut wood if you can. Mesquite is good too. Hit the dollar store and buy a spray bottle, that way you can spray your stuff every so often. Cheap red wine is good

We were given an old propane bbq (it wasn't really a smoker) several years ago but it was rusty when we got it and it eventually fell apart. However we have a Weber grill for almost 30 years and it is still kicking. I bought a new one about 2 years ago.
The only problem I have with the Weber is controlling the heat. If you try to hit for a target temperature then you will be adjusting that thing about every half an hour. I believe there are some people out there who have figured out how to get the temp under control but they aren't me.
One day, perhaps when I retire in the next year or two, I'll get a real smoker. One that will control the temperature for me.
My other problem is that just about the time I started to learn out to smoke meat on the Weber my wife decided she wanted to be vegan. She hasn't been completely successful and I don't want to get in her way. She is doing it for health reasons and if she eats too much meat then she feels a pain in her chest. Her mother had a several heart attacks before she was my wife's age. She didn't take care of her health at all. My wife is afraid she will die early like her mother.
I really can't do much barbecuing or smoking meats because I'll be the only one eating it unless she caves in and eats some of it. I don't want to be the reason for her medical problems.
And if you smoke something for awhile but it’s for the next day, you can wrap it tight in foil and a towel and put in a cooler. It will continue to tenderize and should stay warm for like 8-12 hours. At least for pork or brisket it works

I've used foil before and it is a great time saver. You only need to have the meat in the smoke for maybe an hour or two to get the smoke infused into the meat. After that whatever heat source you want to use to finish it will work.
So far I've only used hickory but I bought apple wood for Thanksgiving. I tried smoking a turkey. As it turns out neither my wife or myself like turkey with a smokey flavor so I won't be doing that again. It wasn't entirely the smoke flavor. The rub I put on it we didn't like either.
I haven't tried brisket yet. I hear it can be fussy and if you don't get things perfect then it doesn't come out very well. The trouble I am having with pork (which is much more forgiving) has made me reluctant to try smoking brisket. Plus it is very expensive, especially now. I don't want to sink a huge chunk of change into brisket and then ruin the brisket.
I just have an old fashioned meat thermometer and there’s one mounted on the door of the smoker. I have a locker type smoker, it’s about 4 feet tall, 18 inches wide and 18 inches deep. It has movable grills in it. I had an electric one and then a friend bought a new house and that smoker was in the garage unused. So he gave it to me for free because he doesn’t cook. It’s about a 300$ smoker from like cabelas or Menards. You should try salmon, you can get a pretty good size filet for around 20$. And doesn’t take too long . I also recently figured out that in addition to the fruit wood , I also will throw any old fruit in the burn box too. A little extra flavor I think

I only bought this thermometer because Weber grills don't have much. There is a thermometer on the lid but that isn't the inside temp of the meat.
I'm not much of a fan of salmon. I had it once when I liked it but ever other time I just don't like it. I am not much of a seafood fan to begin with. I like halibut and mahi mahi and crab and that is about it. Oh yeah I like a good tuna fish sandwich and English fish and chips are pretty good.
I saw a cheap smoker at Walmart ls year for $98. I almost bought it. It is just a little smaller than what they sell at Home Depot but it looked like it would get the job done. I didn't buy it and I haven't seen at Walmart recently. It was either a piece of crap or under priced.
I'd like to get a Traeger or another grill/smoker like that. One day I will but it is not a high priority.
I'll have to see if I can find some plum or cherry wood. I have a lot of apple left over from Thanksgiving. I'll give that a try the next time I do either a pork butt or baby back ribs.
Wireless thermometer is nice. I seen some that link to your phone too

I've seen those also. I looked into several and posted questions in an online BBQ group. I finally decided on one made by Inkbird (Inkbird IRF-45) because it had the widest range of any of them. It had a transmitter and receiver and the transmitter can broadcast up to 1500 feet. All of the others maxed out at 500 feet. The ones that you use with a cellphone are only good for about 250 feet. I doubt if I will ever need to be 1500 feet away. 250ft would have been fine but it was in the same price range as all of the others. So far it has worked great and even on a long "low and slow" smoking it barely uses any of the rechargeable battery. It is still on almost full and I have used it about 4 or 5 times.
I think the ones that connect to your cellphone actually have more bells and whistles than mine but I just wanted to keep track of the temperature. I try to shoot for 225 to 250 and that is why I am running out and adjusting the Weber grill all of the time. If I give it too much air it shoots up over 300 and if I cut off too much air it drops down to about 180. I haven't found a happy medium and it changes every time I load the grill with charcoals.
