Orange is a 14-year-old inkling who lived in Inkopolis Plaza, until a tidal wave came and separated her from Blue, a character that will be mentioned later. The goal of Chapter 1 is to travel through twisted levels from both games to get to her best friend, whom she lost in a crowd. You first see her in a memory.
Part 1: Orange (player) wakes up standing in enemy ink. The screen is styled as if you were playing Splatoon 1's Turf War. You have a sploon 1 splattershot and you are with NPCs that are on your team. When your special gauge is filled, you automatically unleash it and the screen focuses on Blue. He says, "Good game, Orange!" Then the screen fades to white. It then goes to her curled up and crying, saying, "Where's Blue? He can't be gone..." (dialouge bubble appears at bottom)
