Yeah, I’m not actually this optimistic, lol, but it’s a nice sentiment.

We’d need some sort of mass reorientation of society, akin to what Germany and Japan experienced after WWII. I don’t see many examples of that throughout history without the shock of enemy occupation. Reconstruction post-Civil War was an ambitious attempt to really equalize the rights of blacks, but then came Jim Crow and we certainly didn’t have long-term success.
