It will. Eventually it will go. The country has been slowly ramping up to it for a very long time. It might not be during this administration but I suggest you make your peace with the fact that people are done with the filibuster and it is going to get axed entirely.

Maybe that is true. However, if the filibuster WAS abolished, I would be EXTREMELY scared, because abolishing the filibuster would create a tit for tat, and both Republicans and Democrats would be able to pass really radical legislation (as long as the party with the majority agrees with it). And this would create a tit for tat, which would polarize the country even further. And perhaps one party would be able to use their new powers to lock themselves in power. Also, remember when Mitch McConnell abolished the filibuster for supreme court nominations? That lead to Trump appointing 3 Supreme Court justices, which lead to a huge rightward swing in the supreme court (which you probably don't like too much). My point is, I cannot make peace with the idea of abolishing the filibuster, because the consequences of such a thing would be catastrophic.

I absolutely can understand why you'd be scared in a system where you'd have to actually convince people that you should get your way.

That IS a counter argument. If the country has voted for the president and half of Congress to be in agreement of something, the Constitution says it should happen. If you want it not to happen, CONVINCE PEOPLE.
