"respectable, but I have a thing with equality. people want equal rights, which they should have, but the thing is, I'm gonna use deaths for example. A black man kills a white man, no one cares. a white man kills a white man, no one cares. a black man kills a black man, no one cares, but if a white man kills a black man, there are months of protests.
>> this particular instance, was an excessive use of force and continued force after the man you're referencing had stopped resisting and stated he could not breathe. He had three officers next to him, was unarmed, and handcuffed. There was absolutely no justification for what happened. This was the tipping point in a series of deaths caused by police which were unjustified. Another example is Elijah McClain (might have his last name wrong.) Another instance of extreme use of unwarranted excessive force. The kid was autistic and wore a ski-mask as it made him feel safe/comfortable. Temple Grandin, who had reformed how cattle were processed for slaughter through her insight into Autism as she herself manages autism, pointed out that those with autism prefer to feel compressed.
Yet, with Elijah, the police saw a kid on the side of the road at night (after being phoned in) carrying a bag and a ski mask. They assaulted him threatened him with dogs, and naturally, because of his condition, he resisted. He could not help it (if you have ever met someone autistic, you know this.) Ultimately, the incident resulted in his death. There was no time to size the situation. They literally charged him.
These aren't the first issues, this is a recurring behavior with police with minimal repercussions for the officer. Thus, BLM Protests.
also, everyone copes about "all cops are evil" and "kill all cops!", saying all cops are bad, but referring to the 0.7 percent of bad cops. most of them are cool, it's like 10 that is corrupt with their power. If anything happens to a white guy, no one bats an eye, but as soon as something happens to a black guy, it's on the news for months."
That isn't the issue. The issue is that there are so many cops who don't do anything. They witness it, but say nothing. Complacency is another issue. Those police need to step forward more and hold their partners accountable for their violent behavior.
Thanks.
