Joking aside, I wonder what he meant by useless people. Was he saying economically useless because they are not producing goods? Dickens said no one is useless in the world who lightens the burdens of another. Is the converse also correct? If you don’t lighten the burdens of another you are useless. I also wonder, if someone is truly useless then what should be the solution? One logical conclusion would be to exterminate the useless people, but that seems wrong, like something that was tried by a government attempting to follow Marxism 🤔. In a free society that allows for self determination, if someone determines they should be useless is it justified to force a useless person to become a useful person? If we aren’t going to do anything about useless people does the term useless people become useless?
